Gould’s Overnight Fly Fishing Trip to Upper Dam

Each year, the Fly Fishing Club, supported by Gould’s Outing Club, organizes an overnight trip to Upper Dam to fish for native brook trout and landlocked salmon. The Outing Club and its fully stocked gear room support a variety of outdoor adventures throughout the year. Like surfing on the coast, whitewater rafting in The Forks, and backcountry skiing at Tuckerman Ravine, the fly fishing trip has quickly become one of Gould’s most anticipated traditions.

Fall Awards Highlights the Strength of the Husky Spirit

Fall Awards brought the community together to celebrate a full season of commitment and growth. Coaches recognized the work of their athletes across Cross Country Running, Competitive Gravity Mountain Biking, Enduro Mountain Biking, Cross Country Mountain Biking, Golf, Boys and Girls Soccer, Field Hockey, Equestrian, and programs like Outing Club and Drama & Theater. Above all, the night reflected a season shaped by teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and the strength of the Husky spirit. See below for a full list of the night's award winners.

Gould takes Halloween seriously, and our community received an extra treat this year when we gathered for our morning Halloween assembly! Before Dr. Clarke and the weekend team announced campus Trick-or-Treat plans, the Saturday night masquerade dance, and which horror movie would be shown at the yurt, Fernando ’26 and Mau ’27 offered a presentation on the history and significance of Dia de los Muertos.

In ninth grade, Gould students are discovering that maps do much more than show where we are—they reveal who we are. This week in Human Geography, students are using ArcGIS base layers and the Living Atlas feature to explore the intertwined histories of the Americas, learning how landscapes, people, and stories shape one another.
