Gould’s approach to athletic performance is holistic. Our team of professional coaches and trainers understands that success on the field, court, or hill starts with preparation and well-being. Strength and conditioning, injury recovery, and mental resilience are just a few of the programs designed to promote healthy lifelong habits that help them reach their competitive goals and lead to personal growth.

Strength and Conditioning

The High Performance Program gives student-athletes access to structured, sport-specific strength and conditioning and dryland programs tailored to their individual goals. Under the guidance of Gould’s Strength and Conditioning Coach, students work in dedicated training spaces like the Farnsworth Field House fitness center, learning proper technique, injury prevention, and recovery strategies. Training is aligned with each athlete’s season, team goals, and individual development, with an emphasis on safety, education, and long-term progress. These tailored training sessions are part of students’ daily schedule, so they don’t interfere with team practice time or competitions.

Sports Medicine

The athletic training staff is part of Gould’s Health Services team and provides year-round support for student-athletes. Gould’s certified athletic trainer offers hands-on care, helping students recover from injuries, manage treatment plans, and stay healthy throughout their seasons. The training room is open daily, with coverage for practices and competitions.

Sports Psychology

Gould’s Mental Performance Coach helps student-athletes develop their focus, resilience, and confidence in high-pressure situations. Through individual coaching and on-field support, students learn to manage stress, set goals, develop routines, and strengthen their mindset. The program encourages a healthy sports culture, one where athletes learn to perform at their best while taking care of their whole selves.
