Spring Athletics & Co-Curricular Awards 2026

The Gould Varsity Baseball Team poses proudly with their Maine Association of Independent School Athletic Directors (MAISAD) Championship Trophy

Gould celebrated spring athletics and co-curricular programs, including baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis, mountain biking, skateboarding, equestrian, theater, ultimate frisbee, outing club, and more during the 2026 Spring Athletic and Program Awards. The ceremony recognized not only standout performances like the Varsity Baseball team’s extra-inning MAISAD Championship victory, but also the growth, leadership, and resilience that defined the spring season.

“I keep thinking about something Roger Federer said in a recent graduation speech,” said Lauren Head, Varsity Girls Tennis Head Coach. “He talked about how, even at the highest level of tennis, he only won a little more than half of the points he played. Even one of the greatest players of all time lost many points. That’s one of the best lessons tennis teaches us. You can’t dwell on every missed shot or tough match because the next point is about to begin. Learning how to reset, stay resilient, and move forward is something that matters in [sports], and life.”
