Ninth Graders Travel to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona

Gould Ninth-Graders are currently exploring the Sonoran Desert near the Mexican border in Arizona on their Four Point trips. They are learning about indigenous cultures within our own country while visiting border towns and national parks.
Currently, there are two groups in Arizona, with a third trip to depart later this month. Visit the links below to follow their adventures and get insights from trip leaders and the students themselves.

“The day quickly warmed as we traveled to a high-elevation to see a beautiful view of the town below, and crossed a bridge over the border checkpoint...while looking down at the mountainous region, there were barbed wire fences already, and upon traveling next to the wall, silver coils and spirals were eye-level with us, presenting the reality of what the wall really means—unnecessary hostility and violence.” - Maddie ’25
