Vive la France!

Gould juniors participated in a two-week exchange in the company of correspondents from the Lycée Marguerite de Valois in Angoulême, France. Our students lived with families for a week in which they attended classes, toured Angoulême, Cognac, Royan, and spent two wonderful days in Bordeaux!
They spent the Pentecost holiday weekend with their families and participated on a variety of visits in and around the Charente region. The last week of the trip was spent exploring Paris in the company of their French correspondents.

On the program was a riverboat cruise up the St. Martin Canal, visits to museums such as the Carnavalet, the Orsay, the Pompidou Centre, and the Musée de l’Homme, as well as time to wander around the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysée, Montmartre, and Monet’s gardens in Giverny!

In addition to practicing their language skills and being steeped in French culture, our students made fast friendships and are excited to welcome this same group to the United States next January when they will be visiting Washington, D.C. and New York City in the company of our Gould students!
