Gould Nordic Sweeps the NEPSAC Championship

Gould Nordic teams swept the 2023 NEPSAC Championships hosted by Holderness School on Saturday, February 25, taking the top spot for both Boys’ and Girls’, capping off a phenomenal season that began with dryland training last summer.

The season also produced four Junior National Championships qualifiers. Lucas Barstow ’25, James Crowley ’25, Reese Furneaux ’25, and Ellis Slover ’24 will all compete in Fairbanks Alaska starting on March 13, 2023.
Athletic Director and Head Nordic Coach Ben Kamilewicz ’95 reflects on the season:

“Amazing adventures from Michigan to Quebec; fun, food, family, and friendship; countless hours of training and hard work; smiles and laughter all around—our season has been one of memories that we'll cherish for a lifetime.

Despite injuries and sickness, the team showcased their power as a TEAM to take both Boya’ and Girls’ NEPSAC Championship Titles. The skiers showed true grit—a testament to their fortitude and the culture we (athletes, coaches, fans, parents, and community) have created.

We could not be prouder of the 2022-2023 Gould Nordic Team and their season!”

The results at the NEPSAC Championships were impressive, but even more so when you consider that Gould’s top two female racers, Nyla Scott ’24 and Reese Furneaux ’25, were not competing that day. Both will be back next year, as will most of the team.

Congrats on a great season, Huskies! Check out hundreds more images from this special season on Gould's SmugMug Page.
