    See for yourself what makes Gould great. Family Weekend is an annual tradition with time for connection and celebration on the athletic fields, in the classrooms, and outdoors in scenic Bethel, Maine. Many families use this time to meet with advisors and college counselors. We're so excited to spend the weekend with you.

    This spring, the weekend also features a Parent Reception at Modern Barn on Friday night and family casino games on Saturday night, both featuring live and silent auctions.

Friday, April 21

    Ordway Hall
    Please let us know you're on campus and pick up information that will guide you through the weekend. Join everyone in the dining hall for lunch. Check out the display of silent auction items.
  • 1:00 - 3:20 pm | Attend a class with your student: DOT 6 & 7

    Classrooms
    Staff will be available to direct adults to class locations.
  • 1:00 - 3:20 | College Counseling Presentation

    Intended for families of 11th graders. All families are welcome.

    Bingham Auditorium
    Welcome to campus! During this assembly for families, Head of School Tao Smith will speak, student musicians will perform, a slideshow with photos taken throughout the year will be shown,  and selected students will present their Four Point projects. All families are invited, and mandatory for students.

  • 6:00 - 10:30 pm | Dinner, Casino Night, Silent and Live Auction, Patio Games

    A professional casino party company will transform Ordway into a family-friendly casino night!
    Parents, students, and family members are invited! Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. Dinner 6-8 pm. Silent auction. Live auction. Dessert will be served from 8:30-10:00. Games will also be hosted on the field after dinner. 

Sunday, April 23

  • 9:00 - 10:30 am | Grandparents Brunch

    Grandparents Brunch in Clough Dining Room, Ordway Hall
    Cap the weekend with a special meal. Tao Smith will speak about what's happening at Gould, a slide show with photos from the school year will be shown, and there will be an opportunity for family portraits. Designed for grandparents, but everyone is invited. Regular brunch will open to the rest of the community at the usual time (10:30 - 12:00).

Family Weekend Overnights

Boarding Students Leaving With Families
If boarding students leave campus with their families for the day or overnight, they must notify the AOD and complete the required off-campus request forms.

Boarding Student Check-Out Instructions:
  • If your student(s) will be staying with you while participating in family weekend, first have them check out with the AOD before leaving campus.
  • If your student(s) are staying in the dorm during family weekend, they need to check out with the AOD anytime they are leaving campus with you, and check back in with AOD upon return.

Health Statement

We expect anyone who attends Family Weekend will arrive on campus feeling healthy and that those who are experiencing symptoms of COVID or other communicable illnesses will kindly remain home.
Gould is a small, co-ed, independent boarding school for grades 8-PG.  We are passionate about preparing academically motivated students for college, helping them to become independent-minded, ethical citizens who will lead lives of purpose, action, excellence, and compassion in a dynamic world.
