Catherine grew up in Pomfret, CT. She attended both the Rectory School, and the Pomfret School as a Day Student, and went on to graduate from Wheaton College in Norton, MA with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2012. In 2017 she went to the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota to work with Native American Youth, as the Youth Development Director for the YMCA of the Seven Council Fires. Before Gould, she worked as a Regional Recruiter for Husson University. She is a big New England sports fan, and in her free time, likes to read, spend time with her family, and spend time with her cat, George, and dog, Perdi.
Born and raised on Long Island, true New Yorker Rob Banish was completely out of his element moving to Bethel, ME. After graduating with a Fine Arts degree in 2019, Rob pursued a career in TV and Film Production with Pier59 Studios in Manhattan with which he worked on hundreds of high scale shoots and successfully produced and directed a short film of his own. After four years of producing in New York City, Rob moved to Bethel, ME where he continued his production work remotely while working as a Barista for The Gemini Cafe & Bakery.
Otis Bryant is a native Long Islander but is culturally a son of the South. He attended the Stony Brook School- a boarding school on the north shore. He earned his BA in history at Trinity College [CT ] and an MA in American Political History at Howard University in Washington, DC. He enjoys Mandarin RnB and Korean Hip Hop and RnB, especially as the latter pays studied and intimate homage to the African American greats of the 2 genres. He is a world traveler, especially to China, and uses this knowledge to build relationships with students and to promote global literacy within campus communities. Live NBA games are the best.
Kristen Kaschub
Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management
Kristen comes most recently from the Darrow School, New Lebanon, NY, where she served as the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management for three years. Prior to working at Darrow, Kristen spent eight years at Besant Hill School, Ojai, California, serving as the Director of Admissions and Summer Programs for six years before becoming the Director of Advancement and External Affairs. Kristen’s school experience also includes 11 years in admissions and recruiting roles at Ross School and Northfield Mount Hermon School. Kristen has a proven track record of enrollment management success, helping to grow mission aligned international and domestic student enrollment at her previous institutions.
Ms. LaVallee is a third-generation alumna of Gould Academy (Elizabeth Sargent LaVallee ’67 and Alzena Lord Sargent ’42) and a graduate of The University of Maine with a B.A. in Studio Art. Her area of study focused largely on sculpture with an emphasis on metalwork including welding and bronze casting. While a student, she was an active member of the Delta Zeta sorority, served on the Panhellenic Council as Vice President of Recruitment, and was inducted into the Order of Omega.
She has an extensive background in marketing as a product manager for Gemline and more recently as a corporate program manager for Geiger. She loves the outdoors, the mountains, and spends weekends during the winter as a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Level 100 certified alpine coach for the GACP weekend program. She also enjoys camping, reading historical fiction, riding dressage on her horse Bode, and practicing Kyokushin Karate.
She lives in the Bethel area with her partner, Asher Anderson ’05, and their three children, Lewis ’26, Charlotte, and Tristan.
