Application Process

List of 6 items.

  • Step 1 – Inquiry Form

At Gould, we like to begin by learning more about you, your interests, and your aspirations. We recommend you start the process by completing our online Inquiry Form.

Once we receive your inquiry, we will mail you a viewbook and send you an email with information to access your MyGould portal account.  This is the best way for you to track your application status and keep track of which items have been completed and what might still be missing.
  • Step 2 – Schedule a visit and/or interview

Visiting Gould is the best way to experience what makes our campus and community special.  Located in the western Maine mountains, our campus is easily accessible from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and the Portland International Jetport.

An interview with an admissions officer is also a required step in the admissions process.  We are happy to arrange a virtual interview for students and families unable to travel to campus.

To schedule your visit and interview, please contact the Admissions Office at 207-824-7777 or admissions@gouldacademy.org at your earliest convenience.
  • Step 3 – Submit Application

Applicants may choose to complete either Gould’s online application or The Standard Application Online (SAO).  Applications for priority admission and financial aid awards must be submitted by February 1.

Admitted students are required to return the contract and deposit by April 10 or the date specified on the contract.

After February 1, applicants will be considered on a rolling basis as space allows.
  • Step 4 - Transcripts and Recommendations

In addition to our online application, we require the following:

    • Current English Teacher Recommendation
    • Current Math Teacher Recommendation
    • Principal/Head of School or Guidance Counselor Recommendation
    • Current Year Transcript
    • Prior Year Transcript

From your Candidate Checklist, please click “Send Request” to your English teacher, math teacher, and principal, head of school, or guidance counselor.

    • Student Essays

Please complete the parent statement and student essays form from your Candidate Checklist.
