At Gould Academy, learning goes far beyond the classroom—and for students like Rosie ’27, James ’25, and Jasper ’26, that journey has taken them across the Atlantic.
This semester, Rosie and James are living and learning in Spain as part of Gould’s growing global education initiative. They're staying with host families, attending local schools, and stepping into the rhythm of Spanish life. They share meals, celebrate traditions, and practice language skills in real time. More than a travel opportunity, it’s full cultural immersion—an experience that challenges students to adapt, stay curious, and build resilience.
At the same time, Jasper is in Angoulême, France, participating in a long-standing exchange between Gould Academy and Lycée Marguerite de Valois. He’s enrolled in both English and French courses, including a literature class on World War II graphic novels, and is living with the family of a student who previously spent time at Gould. His experience is rooted in connection—from the friendships formed before departure to the local 10K race he ran with his host family shortly after arrival.
What connects these journeys is more than just a passport. These students were chosen not simply for language skills, but for their willingness to take risks, stay open, and embrace the unfamiliar. It’s a reflection of Gould’s mission to guide students toward creativity, courage, and purposeful lives—and to show them that growth often happens when you step beyond what’s comfortable.
When Rosie, James, and Jasper return to campus, they won’t just bring stories—they’ll bring new perspectives. Their experiences inspire others, proving that at Gould, learning happens everywhere, especially when the world becomes your classroom.
