One of the absolute best perks of living in the mountains of Western Maine is the direct access our student-racers have to our strategic partner Sunday River Resort – New England’s second largest ski resort.

Five days a week our Prep Alpine Team heads to Sunday River to our Kailey Competition Center, which is shared between Prep Alpine, Prep Snowboard, and the Gould Academy Competition Program teams. There, our Prep Alpine Team gain valuable experience due to immediate slopeside access to dedicated training and race terrain. The Prep Alpine Team practices basic racing techniques and course skills, including freeskiing drills meant to develop fundamental ski techniques, and gate training drills intended to develop technique and incorporates tactical skills.

Gould’s Prep Alpine Team competes within the Maine Prep School league (MAISAD) with competitions at Sunday River and nearby ski areas. In 2015, Gould’s Prep Alpine Team took home the MAISAD Championship.
